July 6, the BASF Group of Germany and China's Xinjiang Markor Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. joint venture to build the new poly tetrahydrofuran (PolyTHF) production plant formally put into operation in Korla City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, began to offer products to domestic customers.

5 million tons of annual capacity of device PolyTHF, by the joint venture of BASF and Meike BASF Markor chemical manufacturing (Xinjiang) Co., Ltd. is responsible for operations that will support the growing customer demand.

It is reported that PolyTHF is mainly used for various textile spandex elastic fiber production, including suits, sports wear, underwear and coat etc.. In addition, the production of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is the basis ofraw material, TPU can be used for the production of hose, film and cable sheath. Other applications include thermoplastic polyether ester, polyether amide and casting polyurethane elastic body, used for production skateboarding and in-line skates roller etc..
